LABORATORY AND 

ASSOCIATED TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES

Companies involved in the manufacture of products such as food, cleaning agents and cosmetics employ industrial chemists in the research, development and testing of new products. 

Laboratory Assistants and Technicians support the work being done by monitoring the tests being carried out and maintaining the various items of equipment.

In your work you will do a variety of different job roles.

Your duties will include completing simple tests and recording results, ensuring equipment is correctly calibrated and preparing materials and resources ready for testing.

By completing an Apprenticeship in Laboratory & Associated Technical Activities you will gain the knowledge to complete various tasks such as testing and sampling operations, equipment calibration and using information systems.

You will train on the job and be assessed in the workplace and on a portfolio of work.  Throughout your Apprenticeship you will receive help and support from your Charter Assessor.
